Equipment

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Strawberries Hauled and diced, about 2 cups
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • Juice from Half a lemon About 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  • Start off by hulling out the top of the strawberry and dicing into small pieces. I like to use the strawberry hauler below. It's a great way to remove the stem without having to cut off the top of the strawberry.
  • In a small pot on the stove add the water and sugar and warm over medium heat.
  • Add in the fresh strawberries and bring to a boil.
Reduce to a simmer and allow to cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the liquid has reduced down and has a thick consistency.
  • Remove from heat and allow to slightly cool. Run through a fine mesh strainer to collect all the pieces of strawberry.
  • Gently move the strawberries around so the liquid can get thought. Be careful to not push too hard or bits of strawberry will make it through.
  • Store in a glass jar or bottle in the refrigerator for about a month.
