Homemade Almond Pesto

Almond pesto with fresh basil is the perfect, quick sauce for weeknight dinners. Loads of basil, garlic, lemon and parmesan cheese. Use almonds instead of pine nuts for a cost effective alternative with great taste.

–Toasted Almonds – Fresh Basil – Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Garlic Cloves  – Kosher Salt – Black Pepper – Lemon Juice  – Parmesan Cheese

Toast Almonds

Toast the almonds first to get the best flavor.

Add to a food processor or blender.

Add Ingredients

Add basil, oil, garlic lemon, salt and pepper. Leave the cheese for the last step.

Run until smooth, scraping the bottom and sides as needed.

Add cheese and pulse until incorporated.

Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Serve on grilled chicken or fish, use as a pizza sauce, or toss with some cooked pasta.
