Sourdough Discard Pumpkin Bread

A loaf of pumpkin sourdough bread made with pumpkin puree, sourdough discard, and the classic pumpkin spice blend. It's a perfect fall treat and a great way to use your extra sourdough discard.

– All Purpose Flour – Cinnamon – Nutmeg – Ground Cloves – Salt – Baking Soda – Unsalted Butter – Sugar – Sourdough Discard – Eggs –  Pumpkin Puree

Ingredients

Mix Dry Ingredients

Whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside.

Mix Butter and Sugar

With a hand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar.

Add the Starter

Add in the sourdough discard. It will be thick.

Add Pumpkin

Mix in pumpkin puree.

Add Eggs

Add in eggs just until combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in Dry Ingredients

Gently fold in the dry ingredients just until fully combine. Do not overmix.

Bake

Pour in a baking pan and bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Cool and Enjoy

Cool on a wire rack, slice and enjoy!
