Waffles made with Sourdough Discard

Sourdough discard is just starter that is no longer active.  It has risen and then fallen back down again.  Add this discard to these amazing waffles!

What is Discard?

All Purpose Flour Granulated Sugar Kosher Salt Baking Powder Eggs  Sourdough Discard Whole Milk Melted Butter

What You Will Need

Waffle Iron


I really like my Cuisinart double sided waffle iron. Shop the link below.

Separate the eggs and in a medium bowl whip the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.


In as separate bowl whisk together the starter, milk, and butter. Fold in the yolks.


Fold in the egg whites. Do not overmix.


Fold in the flour just until combined.


Heat up waffle iron and pour on 1/2 cup of batter or the recommended amount for your iron.


Cook until nice and golden brown.


Serve with fresh berries, syrup or other favorite toppings
