Watermelon Limeade

This fresh watermelon limeade is all summer in a glass. Made with watermelon, mint, lime juice and the best part, ZERO sugar! It's a great way to use all that fresh watermelon and offers a refreshing summer drink for everyone.

Ingredients

  • 8 Cups Diced Watermelon About half a large watermelon
  • ¼ Cup Fresh Lime Juice about 4-5 limes
  • ¼ Cup Mint Leaves
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt

Instructions

  • Dice up 8 cups of watermelon. It will be about half a large watermelon.
  • In your blender, add the watermelon, mint, and salt and pour in the lime juice. If your blender isn't large enough, run in two batches and combine in a pitcher. 
  • Run on medium speed until completely smooth. 
  • Pour into a pitcher and chill for a few hours. Pour over ice and serve with some mint and lime garnish. 

Notes

Hint: Chilling is so important. If the drink is room temp, it will melt the ice quicker and water it down. If it is chilled before serving, not only does it give the salt more time to intensify the flavors but it also keeps it from getting too watered down.
Variations
This drink can be made in different ways depending on how you want to serve it. Make a fun cocktail for an adult summer gathering or freeze for a fun summer snack for the kids.
  • Watermelon Margarita - Serve with crushed ice and 1 oz of tequila.
  • Watermelon Limeade Popsicles - Add to a popsicle mold to make a fun summer snack.
Storage
This drink will keep in the fridge in an air tight container for 2-3 days. It will start to separate, so give it a good mix right before serving.
It also holds up well to freezing! Add in ice cube trays or into popsicle molds for a fun frozen summer snack.
