How to Make a Sourdough Starter

Equipment:  Glass Jar or Bowl Digital Scale Ingredients: Flour Filtered Water

What You Will Need

Flour must be unbleached

Important Notes: 

Use Filtered Water

Feed equal parts flour and water by weight in grams.

Cover with a light towel

Start by mixing 50 grams of water and flour. Mix well cover and rest 24 hours.

After 24 hours, remove half, keeping about 50 grams and feed again 50 grams of flour and 50 grams of water. Cover and rest.

Repeat this process the first 3 days. After that switch to 2 a day feedings. One in the morning and one at night until active and bubbly.

A starter is ready with it's doubling in size and bubbly.
