Growing Blueberries

This little delicious fruit is so easy to grow in your home garden. With some proper care and little maintenance, have an abundance of blueberries all summer long.

Blueberry Varieties

- Lowbush:  1-2 feet tall   -Highbush North and South:  6-8 feet tall - Half High:  Cross between low and high bush. - Rabbiteye:  Tallest and typically found in the wild.

Multiple Types

Blueberries are not self fertile. Make sure to plant at least 2 types for proper pollination.

Sun

Blueberries need full sun. At least 6-8 hours.

Soil

Blueberries are acid loving plants and require a pH of 4.0-5.0.

Pruning

Prune once they are 4-5 years old at the end of every winter.

Harvest

Blueberries are ready when they fall off easily and are fully dark blue.

Freeze

Freeze to use throughout the winter.
